Sabarina has over 20 years’ experience as a commercial, construction/infrastructure lawyer with extensive experience advising on strategy and dispute resolution in relation to construction, engineering, corporate and energy contracts. Sabarina focuses her practice in alternative dispute resolution and regularly advises in the registration and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in the Malaysian courts. She is an experienced advocate and has represented a wide range of clients in international and domestic arbitrations. Sabarina has advised on and conducted various commercial, banking and property litigation and construction & infrastructure arbitration involving wide ranging issues.  As an experienced litigator, she has appeared and conducted cases before all levels of the Courts in Malaysia including the Federal Court.

Sabarina regularly represents and advises multinational companies, Malaysian corporate players and Malaysian government linked companies regarding issues and disputes arising out of their commercial and corporate contracts. She also advises her clients in the drafting and review of settlement agreements entered into when the disputing parties achieve an amicable resolution of their claims.

As well as her litigation practice, Sabarina regularly works alongside her colleagues from the Projects and Infrastructure practice in advising and reviewing project documentation including EPC contracts for infrastructure (rail and roads) and standard forms such as FIDIC.

As part of her practice, Sabarina also advises employers on contractual issues and disputes arising out of employment contracts.

Sabarina regularly receives appointments from the AIAC as the Arbitrator in arbitrations conducted under the AIAC Arbitration Rules. She is also appointed as the Adjudicator in statutory adjudications under the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012 administered by the AIAC.

Prior to joining the firm, Sabarina started legal practise in 1994 at a leading law firm in Kuala Lumpur, where she handled general litigation matters focusing on commercial contracts and banking matters. Sabarina is a Partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice.

Sabarina is empanelled as Arbitrator with the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC). She is also an accredited Adjudicator under the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012 and empanelled with the AIAC.
